Privacy policy

This policy explains how Shockey.app collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information. It applies to the Shockey.app website and the public hockey information displayed on it.

How Shockey.app Handles Privacy

Collection

Information we collect

Shockey.app collects as little personal information as practical. The site may handle feedback text, optional contact details you provide, basic technical information such as page views, device and browser information, and hockey information already published by public or authorised competition sources.

Timing

When information is collected

Information may be collected when you visit Shockey.app, submit feedback or a source request, choose to include contact details, or when Shockey.app syncs public competition information. The site does not ask users to create accounts and does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through normal use.

Use

How information is used

Information is used to operate the site, improve coverage, respond to feedback, monitor reliability, protect the service from misuse, and keep competition data accurate. Public hockey information is used to display fixtures, results, ladders, club pages, team pages, and related competition views.

Disclosure

Who information may be shared with

Shockey.app does not sell personal information. Limited service providers may process information for hosting, analytics, logging, security, or feedback delivery. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect the site, or to deal with a privacy, safety, or integrity issue.

Protection

How information is protected

Shockey.app uses reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Personal information is kept limited and used only for the purpose it was provided, or for a related site purpose that a user would reasonably expect.

Junior Competition Information

Shockey.app applies extra restraint to junior competitions. Junior pages are limited by default to team-level fixtures, results, ladders, and privacy wording. Player names, goal scorers, and individual statistics are hidden by default unless an authorised competition administrator confirms they may be published.

Access, Correction, and Privacy Requests

You can ask what personal information Shockey.app holds about you, request a correction, ask for a feedback or contact record to be removed where practical, or raise a privacy concern. Use the feedback form on the site and include contact details if you want a reply.

Shockey.app will handle privacy requests in a practical, proportionate way and may need enough information to identify the relevant record. Public competition information may also need to be corrected at the original competition source before Shockey.app can reliably update it.

Public Competition Data

Shockey.app displays fixtures, results, ladders, club names, team names, and related competition information from public or authorised hockey sources. Where player-level statistics are available for senior competitions, Shockey.app treats them as public sport information connected to those competitions.

Updates

This policy may be updated as Shockey.app adds coverage, data sources, or privacy controls. The current version applies from 25 June 2026.
